How the calculator works
It multiplies the amount applied to each unit by the number of units you produce. For a bead of adhesive it uses the cross-section, the density and the length. For a coated surface it uses the weight per square metre and the area. For dots it uses the grams per dot and the number of dots.
Where to get the values
- Density: from the technical data sheet of the adhesive you use.
- Cross-section, width and thickness: measure a sample bead, or use your dispensing settings.
- Grams per unit: weigh a few units before and after application and average the difference.
- Units per hour and operating time: from your production records.
Reading the result
The result is an estimate that is only as good as the values you enter. Weigh real units on your line to confirm it, and use the optional change field to see what a given increase or reduction would mean per month.
